Yesterday, I finished leading a yearlong series of classes called “Conscious Aging” with a wonderful group of wise, caring elders at an area senior living community. I gained so much from them, and I will miss them! As we ended, I offered the following blessing & I’m sharing if you need inspiration for aging.

A Blessing as You Age (adapted from John O’Donohue’s To Bless the Space Between Us)

May the light of your soul shine brightly.
May your worry and anxiousness about your age be transformed. May you be given wisdom for the eyes of your soul
to see this as a time of gracious harvesting.
May you have the compassion to heal old hurts.
May you sense your inner freedom to choose how to live.
Above all,
May you be given the wonderful gift
of meeting the eternal light that is within you
and knowing that you are loved beyond measure.
